Job Description /n /n Experienced Nurse Assistants or Medical
Assistants are welcome to apply! We will train /n/n The starting
rate for this position is: $27.50 /n/n Rate of pay displayed
reflects the beginning of the pay scale. At the time of an offer,

as it relates to the position. /n/n /n/n Summary /n/n /n/n Under
general supervision of the clinical director or board-certified
physician specialist, performs Electroencephalograms,
Polysomnograms, Home Sleep Apnea Testing, Multiple Sleep Latency
Tests, and Evoked Potentials to obtain data for use in the
diagnosis of clinical disorders of the nervous system and/or sleep
disorders. Provides support for physicians performing
Electromyograms as needed. /n/n /n/n Essential Duties and
Responsibilities /n/n /n/t - Supports and promotes the mission and
values of Covenant Health Ministry. /n/t - Performs EEGs, Evoked
Potentials, and sleep testing as requested by ordering providers
according to established policy and procedure. /n/t - Assures that
tracings are properly marked and identified for the interpretation.
/n/t - Gathers patient medical history, explains testing, and
prepares the patient for procedure. /n/t - Communicates efficiently
with medical and nursing staff when performing tests on inpatient
floors. /n/t - Monitors the patient’s status and notes any
abnormalities during testing. Demonstrates the ability to make
changes or adjustments during recording as needed by the physician.
/n/t - Provides technical analysis of EEG, EP, and sleep study
testing when needed. /n/t - Demonstrates the ability to be
flexible, organized and function under stressful situations.
Prioritizes workload. /n/t - Provides physician support coverage in
EMG as well as clerical duties within the department when
available. /n/t - Assures that required equipment and supplies are
always available and properly handled. Reports supply needs to the
manager. /n/t - Follows hospital and lab protocol for universal
precautions, PPE, and infection control. /n/t - Schedules and
registers patients as needed. /n/t - Maintains EEG daily log and
works closely with providers to assure appropriate turnaround time
of EEG & EMG results /n/t - Formulates and recommends policies and
procedures required for effective, efficient, and economic
operation of intra and inter departmental function. /n/t - Other
duties as consistent with this role. /n /n/n Job Requirements /n/n
/n/n Job Knowledge and Skills /n/n /n/t - Exhibits proficiency in
the International 10-20 System of Measurement. Adheres to or
exceeds minimum technical standards for performing EEG, sleep
studies, and Evoked Potentials based on ACNS and AASM guidelines.
/n/t - Demonstrates recognition and confirms physiological and
non-physiological artifacts, abnormal EEG patterns, and normal
variants. /n/t - Understands and monitors various physiological
parameters, including but not limited to sleep stages, medication
effects, EEG, EOG, EKG, EMG, oximetry, PAP and respiratory
patterns. Provides technical analysis of data when required. /n/t -
Exhibits competency in routine scoring of sleep results. /n/t -
Strong communication skills (written and verbal). /n/t - Ability to
work independently. /n/t - Demonstrates proficiency in assessing,
responding, and adapting treatment of care to meet the needs of the
patient population served by the organization. /n/t - Computer
knowledge and experience is necessary. /n/t - Maintains knowledge
base by attending field related courses, conferences, and/or online
CEUs. /n /n/n /n/n Education and Experience /n/n /n/t - Formal EEG
and/or sleep training or 2 years on the job training is preferred.
/n/t - Board-registered by either the BRPT or ABRET strongly
preferred. /n/t - HS diploma or equivalent preferred. /n/t - BLS
certification required. /n /n/n An equivalent combination of
education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of
responsibility listed above may be substituted for the above
education and experience requirements. /n/n /n/n Working
Conditions/Physical Demands /n/n Must possess the physical and
mental abilities to perform the tasks normally associated with this
position that involves a combination of sitting, standing, walking,
bending, stooping, and reaching. Lifting/carrying frequently up to
35 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Some stress related to
high level of responsibility for quality care. /n/n /n/n Americans
