We are seeking a Process Development Associate (Contractor) to join
a dynamic bioprocess development team at a leading
biopharmaceutical organization. This lab-based role supports the
development, characterization, and scale-up of upstream and
downstream processes for biologic drug substances.
This is a hands-on, experimental role ideal for candidates with a
strong background in mammalian cell culture, bench-scale bioreactor
operations, and data analysis. The position offers an opportunity
to work across multiple therapeutic modalities in a highly
collaborative and innovative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform mammalian cell culture and maintain bench-scale
bioreactors.
Conduct bioreactor sampling and operate high-throughput systems
(e.g., Ambr).
Compile, analyze, and interpret experimental data.
Design and execute experiments supporting both cell culture and
purification processes.
Assist with laboratory equipment operation, troubleshooting, and
routine maintenance.
Contribute to technology development, process optimization, and lab
automation initiatives.
Work collaboratively across integrated teams to advance development
projects.
Manage project-based tasks and support lab operations as
needed.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical
Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related discipline
OR
Associate degree and 4 years of relevant laboratory experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture, chromatography,
and/or filtration techniques
Familiarity with high-throughput technologies (e.g., Ambr
systems)
Proficiency with data analysis tools such as Excel, Spotfire, JMP,
R, or Python
Understanding of process development principles and laboratory best
practices
Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication
skills
Experience in biopharmaceutical or biotechnology process
development environments
Familiarity with design of experiments (DoE) and statistical data
interpretation
Additional Details:
Must be local to the Cambridge, MA area or willing to relocate
This position requires 100% onsite presence with occasional weekend
work (scheduled in advance)
