Job Description:

Location: Plymouth MA

Under the direction of the Director of Operations, the PAR provides excellent customer service while greeting and assisting patients -entering the Vaccination Clinic -by registering new and existing patients; verifying scheduled appointments, insurance information and scheduling follow up appointments. - Entering pertinent demographic patient data and account information. - Ensuring patient information is current and accurate. -Collects copays and payment on account (fees), as appropriate. - Explains insurance options and schedules appointment with a Certified Application Counselor (CAC) to review insurance eligibility options. - Effectively identifies and assesses patient needs and takes appropriate procedures to ensure that patient needs are met.

Job duties include:
Accurately and efficiently collects and records patient information
Ensure that all demographics and insurance information is accurate and current
Verifies insurance information and documents payer on patient encounters to ensure accurate claim submission
Print out the scheduled appointment listing for following day.
Promptly and courteously answers the telephone, disseminates calls to staff.
Educates on payment options, including discussing health and dental insurance coverage, submitting applications for Health Safety Net Presumptive Determination, completing applications for Sliding Fee Scale Discounts, and referring to the Certified Application Counselors
Assist with patient appointments and rescheduling by patient and/or provider request.
Performs related administrative duties
Effectively explains appointment procedures
Refers patients as appropriate to the Certified Application Counselor (CAC)
Register new patients
Ensures accuracy of PCP and/or obtains referral
Obtains Motor Vehicle and Workers Compensation Insurances as appropriate
Transfers calls to appropriate personnel
Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written
Excellent customer service skills
Excellent organizational skills
Basic computer literacy
Basic Math skills
Problem solving skills
Priority setting skills
3 or more years' experience in a community health center and/or professional business environment preferred
Bachelor's degree preferred
Bilingual: English/Spanish or English/Vietnamese preferred
Familiarity with using Medical terminology preferred
Bilingual preferred, not required
Performs other related duties as assigned.
