A great new leadership opportunity at one of Massachusetts top teaching hospitals has recently become available for a Perioperative Services Clinical Nursing Educator.

The Operating Room Professional Development Nurse will join a 150+ bed hospital that has been nationally awarded for quality and safety. The Perioperative Services Clinical Nursing Educator will join the leadership team of a busy surgical wing that houses 6 operating rooms that perform an average of 600 cases per month. The majority of the cases performed at the hospital are orthopedic cases with a high volume of total joint replacements. There are also a high volume of vascular cases performed and there are plans to bring in a spine surgeon in early 2020.

Reporting to the Director of Perioperative Services, the Operating Room Professional Development Nurse will act as a mentor and provide clinical coaching to staff nurses in the operating room. The Perioperative Services Clinical Nursing Educator will be responsible for patient and staff education, nursing consultations, educational program development, and unit efficiency. They will also analyze nursing methods and help develop plans for improving the continuum of care throughout the patient stay.
