A 170-bed nonprofit hospital in coastal southeastern Massachusetts is adding an Anatomic and Clinical Pathology Physician. Join one of the fastest-growing hospitals in Massachusetts. About the Position: Well-established community hospital that is part of a large Harvard Medical School-affiliated system The position entails general surgical pathology sign-out with a role in oversight of the clinical laboratories at one hospital. Join 3 other Pathologists The department?s volume is approximately 13,000 surgical specimens per year. In addition, approximately 5000 gynecologic cytology specimens and 1000 non-gynecologic specimens are processed per year, with occasional rapid on-site evaluation. The pathologists are involved in clinical consults, which primarily include evaluation of peripheral blood smears and blood bank serology. The candidate will be involved in general surgical and breast cancer conferences and participate in a rotating call schedule, approximately one week in every four. The Department of Pathology has a Pathologist Assistant and a grossing tech. No autopsies are performed at this hospital.
