Job Description:
Position Summary:The Director of the LPN program will be
responsible for the program start-up up including the development
of the LPN curriculum and accreditation of the program. The
Director will be responsible for establishing a professional and
positive learning environment for students and faculty. Working
collaboratively with the EVP and Director of Professional Practice
and Educational programming, the Director will create a curriculum
to meet a diverse student base and will work closely with
accrediting bodies, state nursing board, and academic colleagues to
ensure adherence with regulatory requirements. Will oversee
clinical agreements with outside clinical sites and ensure
compliance with state and organizational policies. The Director
will assist the CareForce Institute team in promoting the program
and will participate in the recruitment and screening of students.
The Director will hire and train the necessary instructors and be
responsible for creating a professional and highly accountable team
and mentor and evaluate faculty members. In collaboration with the
EVP and the Director of Business Development and Financial
Operations, the Director will establish the program department
budget. The Director will also support the Nursing Assistant
Training Program manager with direct teaching as requested to
support the initiation of that program while awaiting formal
approval of the program.Core Competencies:

Responsibilities:
- Working collaboratively with the CareForce team, co -create the
vision, core values and brand for the Institute.
- Develop LPN curriculum and revise as necessary to receive an
initial license and then accreditation of the LPN program.
- With input from EVP and others, create a student handbook to
outline the roles and responsibilities of the students.
- Develop screening and eligibility criteria and procedure for
student selection. Monitor compliance to the process. Revise as
needed to improve student outcomes and student experience.
- Develop policies and procedures for the effective operations of
the program. Includes the student application and selection
process, storing of student information, onboarding process for
students, required eligibility criteria, absences and grievance
processes, etc.
- Establish faculty competencies to assist with onboarding and to
evaluate effectiveness of teaching. Establish a process for ongoing
evaluation of classroom teaching. Provide professional development
training opportunities for faculty to advance educational teaching
techniques.
- Create an evaluation process to receive student feedback of
their learning experiences. Monitor student performance trends and
create action plans in collaboration with faculty to address gaps
in training and improve student experience
- In collaboration with the EVP, identify program metrics to
track effectiveness of the training program (i.e. NCLEX pass rate,
student retention, evaluation of the student experience
etc...).
- Foster a positive, self-directed work environment and establish
individual faculty goals to further faculty professional
development.
- Ensure adherence to state boards and regulatory licensing
standards. Remain abreast of changes and revise program components
as necessary to maintain adherence. Includes program policy and
procedures changes and curriculum modifications.
- Coordinate additional clinical sites as needed. Secure
appropriate agreements and ensure adherence to requirements.
- Identify educational resources and technology needed to support
training. Create budget and adhere to establish budget. Collaborate
with EVP in advance of any financial challenges to prepare and plan
as necessary.
- Provide oversight of teaching spaces and ensure professional
environment. Identify resources and environmental improvements.
Participate in space planning sessions as an opportunity for new
space presentations.
- Establish department goals in collaboration with faculty.
Involve faculty in developing plans and working to achieve set
targets.
- Create an annual report outlining progress toward established
goals. Presented as requested to represent the program.
- Attend professional networking conferences and participate in
professional organizations as appropriate to remain abreast of
industry trends and best practices. Present and publish as
encouraged and appropriate.
- Oversee volunteer coaching and academic support resources to
mentor and assist the students during their learning journey.
- Create a safe learning environment that fosters curiosity,
innovation, professionalism, and a strong sense of accountability
to professional practice.Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Nursing or related graduate degree and major
course work in education (Doctor of Nursing Practice
Preferred)
- 5+ years of previous experience in a leadership role.
- Prior experience creating leadership development programs is
highly desired.
- Computer literacy required, understanding of the Learning
Management system preferred.
- Ability to plan, organize, and direct large-scale and
comprehensive nursing activities.
- Ability to supervise, train, and motivate employees.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
with administration, medical personnel, employees, the public, and
other agencies.Required Training:
- Successful completion of HSL orientation and the competency
tool.
- Completion of annual mandatory requirements: hazard
communication, infection control, fire safety, and elder abuse
prevention.Physical Requirements:
- Position requires regular travel between multiple work
sites.
- Occasional prolonged standing or walking
