Job Description:
Provides global technology solutions and scalable infrastructure
to the investment advisor community to advance business objectives.
Evaluates, designs, and implements enterprise database design
solutions. Primary Responsibilities: Analyzes and implements database technology solutions. Troubleshoots and resolves database technical issues. Acts as a domain database expert and oversees key initiative
program database deliverables. Provides technical guidance on the design and implementation of
complex database solutions. Documents design, operational procedures, and standards for
highly complex/business critical databases that adhere business
operational service level agreements. Provides 7*24 first level database production support for
enterprise critical applications. Tests and implements new database infrastructure upgrades and
features for general adoption. Establishes performance tuning criteria and methods in
coordination with internal and external technical resources. Designs, evaluates, and performs highly complex database
performance and functionality testing. Communicates effectively with other technology infrastructure
and engineering partners. Establishes full project life cycle plans for complex database
infrastructure projects. Provides technical evaluation estimates on technology databases
infrastructure initiatives. Develops and maintains policies, procedures and techniques to
minimize future database incident occurrence. Defines database security requirements and operational
procedures to adhere with enterprise audit risk policies. Defines the scope of database infrastructure changes and impact
to other technology infrastructure dependencies. Mentors junior team members. Education and Experience: Bachelors degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer
Science, Applied Computer Science, Computer Applications,
Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems,
Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and five (5) years
of experience in the job offered or five (5) years of experience
performing database administration in a financial service
environment or a financial services IT solutions environment. Or, alternatively, a Masters degree (or foreign education
equivalent) in Computer Science, Applied Computer Science, Computer
Applications, Engineering, Information Technology, Information
Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three
(3) years of experience in the job offered or three (3) years of
experience performing database administration in a financial
service environment or a financial services IT solutions
environment. Skills and Knowledge: Candidate must also possess: Demonstrated Expertise (DE) planning, designing, and
implementing Oracle databases, servers, patch upgrades and
migrations; evaluating, testing, and certifying Oracle and Golden
Gate database product features; and documenting and reviewing
database upgrade plans with stakeholders -- assessing impact of
Oracle database parameters, Oracle database optimizer changes,
Oracle xplan performance analysis, and Golden Gate database
replication impacts. DE assessing and testing database infrastructure changes --
service request, automated incident, and change management -- to
evaluate business risk from a server, storage, network, and
database perspective, using Service Now; and assessing database
capacity and performance management and ensuring infrastructure
changes adhere to Information Technology Infrastructure Library
(ITIL) and change management and security access procedures and
policies, using Oracle Automatic Workload repository and Oracle
Enterprise Manager (OEM). DE providing production and non-production technical database
support -- triaging, resolving, and providing root cause analysis
-- in an integrated asset management trading environment, using OEM
and Automatic Workload Repository (AWR) tools; and mining and
analyzing Oracle database level data and server log files -- core
dumps, Golden Gate database replication logs, Oracle trace files
and alert logs, and Linux OS alert logs. DE designing, developing, and implementing mission critical
database infrastructure solutions to ensure compliance with
business continuity ratings and audit access policies, using EMC
SRDF storage replication technologies, Oracle RMAN database back
and recovery utilities, Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC), and
