Job Description:

Working under the direction of the Quality Engineering Manager, will be responsible for working closely in a small team

environment with other Engineers to help test and deliver high-quality web applications which make up The MathWorks’

Continuous Integration systems; designing testing strategies as well as developing and integrating automated testing

into the build and release process; debugging to continuously improve The MathWorks’ tools and processes; and

assisting with qualification of multiple web applications through specific tasks including participating in design

reviews, developing test plans, and developing and executing automated and manual UI tests.

Education and Experience:

Master’s degree or higher (or foreign education equivalent) in Engineering, Computer Science, or Telecommunication

Systems Management and no experience.

OR

Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Engineering, Computer Science, or Telecommunication Systems

Management and five (5) years of experience in job offered or five (5) years of experience in development or quality

engineering of Java-based web applications within a Linux and Windows environment.

Special Requirements:

• Demonstrated expertise designing Java web services built in Maven within a Continuous Integration System -- Git

or Perforce -- according to Agile methodology.

• Demonstrated expertise in design and execution of automated and interactive tests for Java web services;

performing debugging and root cause analysis; and verifying bug fixes.

• Demonstrated expertise designing automated test cases using JUnit and Test Doubles and Mocking frameworks --

Mockito or EasyMock -- and integration tests using Scala.

• Demonstrated expertise in quality engineering of Java-based web applications including participating in design

and architecture quality assurance reviews for development and testing on Windows and Unix systems, and developing

and maintaining testing tools to write and test SQL queries within a relational database environment.
