shared services organization that supports banking affiliates,
Newburyport Bank, Pentucket Bank and Rollstone Bank & Trust. The
Government Banking Relationship Officer gathers municipal accounts
and retains existing and new municipal balances for all banks under
River Run and performs numerous tasks and projects necessary for
the department to run efficiently while delivering the best
possible experience to customers, prospects, and internal partners.
Requirements: Essential Job Functions Meets or exceeds municipal
deposit goals and new municipal relationship goals. Collaborates
with internal departments to ensure smooth onboarding of new
municipal and customers and to provide a high-level of customer
service. Partners with internal departments for joint calls with
customers and prospects, as appropriate, to deepen relationships
cross-sell, and provide a united, team front to customers and
prospects. Retains existing municipal balances and relationships.
Attends industry-specific training and webinars to stay current on
issues facing municipalities. Demonstrates and understanding of
State Law related to banking relationships with municipalities.
Creates and implements a business development plan focused on
Treasurers and other government officials with the goal of
obtaining and retaining deposits and other business as appropriate.
Makes recommendations for products and services the Bank can
profitably offer to State and Municipal government agencies.
Utilizes time efficiently to complete administrative functions
including addressing customer-related follow ups and servicing
needs, updating/completing internal reporting, compiling call/visit
report of customer/prospect contact, compiling expense reporting
and performing other department tasks and projects, as assigned.
Qualifications, Experience, and Education Minimum of associate’s
degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of 5 years of business development experience, preferably
in banking or financial services. Excellent oral and written
communication skills. Strong judgment skills. Proficient in
spreadsheets, word processing, and presentation applications.
Ability to use office equipment such as laptop, desktop, copier,
and telephone. Ability to travel a minimum of three days per week
to customers and prospects and to attend meetings and conferences.
