Open Position: Investment Actuary Job Description: The
Investment Team seeks a quantitative professional to join the
dynamic Investment Risk and Analysis function. The individual will
be responsible for providing authoritative analysis of pension and
insurance liabilities and translating balance-sheet risk into
actionable inputs for liability-driven investment and insurance
asset solutions. This role partners closely with Portfolio Managers
and Client Teams, providing advanced expertise in actuarial
modeling, asset–liability analysis, risk quantification, and
investment solution design support. The position reports to the
Director of Investment Risk, Vice Chair of the Investment Committee
and also offers regular interaction with senior Investment Team
leadership, Research Analysts, Traders, Marketing, Performance,
Technology, and Compliance Teams. Responsibilities: Cultivate
thorough understanding of IRM’s investment philosophy, process and
strategies Support investment decision-making through portfolio-
and balance-sheet-level risk analysis, scenario testing, exposure
decompositions, and other quantitative projects Analyze and model
liabilities and evaluate portfolio construction- across duration,
convexity, curve positioning, and inflation sensitivity- to assess
asset–liability alignment and investment risk Partner with
portfolio managers on the design, implementation, and monitoring of
custom liability-driven and balance-sheet-aware investment
solutions for pension and insurance clients Serve as a technical
resource on current pension and insurance regulatory, accounting,
and valuation frameworks and their implications for liability-aware
investment strategies Contribute to investment risk analysis across
broader fixed income strategies, including spread sectors, total
return, and benchmark-relative portfolios Partner with Portfolio
Managers, Research Analysts and Traders to provide analysis for
internal Investment Team projects Respond to complex qualitative
and quantitative investment requests from
prospects/clients/consultants including attribution analysis, model
portfolios, and scenario analysis Provide actuarial and investment
expertise in cross-functional development of regular and ad-hoc
communications collateral, including market commentary, thematic
monitors, thought leadership, specialized reporting and custom
presentation materials Join Client and Investment Team colleagues
to present quantitative analysis and participate in custom solution
discussions with external stakeholders as needed Develop in-depth
knowledge of all proprietary and third-party tools and systems,
becoming a “Power User” resource for colleagues across the
Investment Team Establish strong working relationships across all
functions within the Investment Team and with members of the Client
Service Team Required Skills and Experience: 10 years of financial
industry experience 6 years of industry experience working with
retirement plans, insurance company assets, or in a related OCIO or
consulting role 3 years of experience working in an actuarial
capacity Expertise in actuarial and/or statistical work, including
actuarial formulas, modeling methods, and quantitative procedures
Experience with defined benefit pension plans and insurance
products, including plan or contract design, liability modeling and
projection, risk management, and strategic asset allocation
Familiarity with pension and insurance regulatory frameworks,
policy considerations, and relevant Actuarial Standards of Practice
Strong background in fixed income markets Advanced Excel skills
Excellent quantitative and analytical skills with demonstrable
ability to quickly understand new concepts Strong written, verbal
communication, and presentation skills Critical thinker and
proactive problem solver with commitment to excellence and accuracy
Self-starter who can independently produce results while handling
multiple priorities with limited oversight Strong organization,
workflow, project management and process skills Flexible – ability
to quickly change gears while juggling numerous tasks and projects
Enthusiastic – team oriented, with willingness to pitch in to help
others Collaborative mindset and ability to thrive in
cross-functional environment are essential Education Requirement:
Bachelor’s degree required, concentration with heavy quantitative
focus strongly preferred ASA/FSA designation or progress toward
required CERA designation or progress toward preferred CFA Charter

salary range below describes the estimated minimum to maximum base
salary range for a position of this level. Compensation decisions
are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each candidate and
may vary based upon but not limited to relevant experience,
licensure requirements, certifications, skill set, and other
business and organizational needs. Base Salary Range: $150,000 -
$200,000 Annual Performance Bonus: This role is eligible for an
annual performance-based bonus Applicants must be authorized to
