Job Summary ** This is a full-time remote position with hybrid option if desired** Boston Children's Hospital Trust is the philanthropic resource for the hospital which provides vital funds to support our cutting edge research, community outreach, patient family programs and medical education. The Senior Business Analyst is an important member of the Strategic Planning and Analysis team, responsible for developing innovative data-driven business intelligence solutions. This is a dynamic role that serves analytic needs across the Trust including individual major and planned giving, foundation relations, corporate support, direct marketing, digital/web, p2p events, finance, and board relations. The Senior Business Analyst collaborates closely with fundraising leaders to assess needs, define requirements, develop interactive dashboards, improve processes, and analyze data to yield actionable insights. The ideal candidate will have excellent analytic and communication skills along with experience developing BI solutions that inform fundraising strategy. This Senior Business Analyst, Trust will:

  • Collaborate with leaders across the Trust to assess needs and gather requirements for data-driven business intelligence solutions.
  • Develop and deploy Tableau dashboards and data visualizations for all Trust business areas.
  • Lead facilitated discovery and user training to explore performance and uncover opportunities for program improvement.
  • Create back-end data warehouse tables from Blackbaud CRM using SQL.
  • Recommend process improvements to improve and optimize BI deliverable production and efficiency across fundraising teams.
  • Create appropriate test plans, Q/A processes, and test cases to ensure data accuracy.
  • Write high-quality documentation for all deliverables and dashboard usage.
  • Work closely with other Trust teams on data governance, privacy, and security issues. To qualify, you must have:
    • BA degree and a minimum of 5 years' experience in system implementations, data analysis, or dashboard/report development.
    • At least 2 years of experience in a technical role working with major giving or direct marketing fundraising data and a minimum of 2 years using SQL to query relational databases.
    • Strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to effectively collaborate with non-technical colleagues to interpret data, analysis and reporting needs and gather requirements.
    • Technical skills to analyze data, query relational databases, and develop reports, data visualizations, or dashboard solutions for fundraising.
    • Ability to effectively communicate analyses and performance results to all types of audiences.
    • Strong quantitative/analytic and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple concurrent projects.
    • Meticulous attention to detail in dashboard design and development.
    • Expertise with Tableau, familiarity with Blackbaud CRM, and knowledge of fundraising practices in a Healthcare or Higher Education environment is preferred.
