Job SummaryReporting to the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis, this position supports the Financial Planning Department with budgeting, analysis and reporting. Communicates findings and makes recommendations to Director or other team members as appropriate. Supports senior management in collective bargaining and non-union compensation matters.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work in a team-oriented environment to successfully complete financial planning tasks for the system including budgets, financial models, financial analysis and financial reports
  • Support directors and senior leadership by providing timely and accurate data analysis from multiple sources, including Power Health, Axiom, Kronos, Meditech, and Access databases
  • Update and reconcile the cost accounting database on a monthly basis
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual budget
  • Provide standard daily, weekly, biweekly, monthly and ad hoc reports and analysis to assist directors manage their budgets and operations
  • Participate in the monthly Accounting close process by identifying causes of budget variances and suggesting corrective action
  • Design new or re-engineer existing processes
  • Contribute to group knowledge and best practices
  • Make recommendations regarding maximizing efficiency and productivity.It is understood that this is a summary of key job functions and does not include every detail of the job that may reasonably be required.
    Experience/Knowledge/Skills Required
    • Minimum of 2 years business experience in a complementary role
    • Working knowledge of financial statements
    • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, including Access
    • Strong analytical/problem-solving skills
    • Strong communication skills, ability to translate end user needs into a solution
    • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail is critical to the success of all candidates.
    • Ability to recognize inefficiencies in processes (operational or technical) and the ability to design solutions to address these issues.
    • Ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information.
      Education Required
      • Bachelors Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or IS
